Over the years, I've started multiple physical sketchbooks. The first couple of pages always have a few lovely drawings, maybe a scribble from a child, then nothing, nada, blank pages. I like the idea of having a sketchbook on hand. But I barely remember where I put my keys, wallet, and phone, so I've given up on keeping a physical sketchbook.
Instead, I like having a stack in my Procreate gallery dedicated to sketches. I try to work in the same way I would if I had a pen in my hand—resisting the two-finger undo tap and not worrying about mistakes.
I can 'Find my iPad' and keep everything organised. For now, this keeps me happy.
